I grew up in the small town of Gilbert, SC, and LOVED it. But when I tell people I’m photographing a wedding or engagement session in Ruby, SC, they look at me like I’m crazy. “Where is that?!”

It’s in Chesterfield County (SC), and is an hour away from the Interstate (that’s how you know it’s a truly small town)!

I first visited last year for Courtney + Brian’s wedding, and I’m so excited to be photographing TWO weddings back in Ruby/Chesterfield this year!! I seriously can’t wait for either of them, because I am just in LOVE with both couples (who happen to be cousins!).

I was so excited to meet Langley, because even over email she was just so, so, so sweet. I left their session feeling so smitten because of how sweet her and JT were, and by how sweet Langley’s mama was! She invited me to stay for dinner, and if I hadn’t had a long drive home ahead of me and dinner at my in-laws waiting for me, I absolutely would have stayed. I enjoyed talking to them so much, and really felt at home. (We started the session out on the property of their home, and it was absolutely GORGEOUS!) I fell in LOVE LOVE LOVE with the tree in the images below and knew instantly we needed to go to that spot for pictures. SWOON.
