He proposed at The Battery in Charleston, SC, so it made sense for them to have their engagement pictures in Charleston! I always LOVE having shoots in Charleston, especially when the weather is as beautiful as it was the day of their session…which also happened to be my one-year wedding anniversary. (: (Don’t worry—my husband barely even knew I was gone. It was a sunrise session, so by 9:00am I was back in bed with (my) Tyler eating iHop and drinking Starbucks!)
These two have a pretty unique story with how they booked me as their wedding photographer. A sweet photog friend of mine (who is a children & family photographer, and also a nanny) found out her and her husband can’t conceive a child. To make a long story short, their last option for conceiving is through IVF, which costs a lot of money…especially when you don’t have insurance. They used the magical powers of Facebook to rally friends behind their cause and held a raffle to raise money. I decided to join in and auction off a wedding package, which these two love-birds ended up scoring! I donated their entire wedding package fee immediately, and we began planning this sweet session!
We are less than 8 weeks away from their wedding, and I just can’t wait! Enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session. (:
