I asked Melia + Khoury what they want to remember about their relationship right now, and I loved their answers: Melia said she wants to remember how simple and easy everything is right now—from their love for one another to how everything in their relationship just fell into place. She said it feels like they’ve been dating for years, even though it has only been a little over one year. Khoury said he wants to remember how real their love for each other is. I hope years and years and years from now, they look back at this blog post, and their engagement photos, and they remember exactly how they felt, in this moment, and that it encourages them. Because marriage comes with difficulties, BUT—love always persists, and I hope they remember how simple and easy it felt in the beginning to love one another.

Khoury proposed during a party where they were celebrating their new house they had just bought, so it was so fitting to have part of their engagement photos done in it! I’m always so happy to be welcomed into couples’ homes. They’re always so beautiful and cozy! For the second half of their session, we went to the Dairy Barn, which is where they’re getting married next year. I had heard so many great things about the barn, but this was my first time ever going—it was GORGEOUS! I loved the big fields, the pretty sunflowers, and just the open space of it all. I can’t WAIT to see them officially become husband and wife here next year!
