These sessions weren’t my idea—but the photographer who started it encouraged others to do them to bring joy to families during this time, and man—I’m so glad I jumped on board! Originally I didn’t want to do them, but after having a few people ask, and realizing it would be good for me to get out and do something, I decided to go for it!

I have fallen in LOVE with this type of session! I remember a few months back doing photos for the Still family and Roxanne talked about how much she loved having a session done in her own home. She mentioned that it was just much easier not having to load the kids up and go anywhere—just so much less stressful and more comfortable for them. I can say after doing PORCHrait sessions for 40 families that it is just AWESOME! You don’t have to pack bags for the kids, load them in the car, and you don’t even have to put on shoes if you don’t want to! These sessions were so quick and easy, and painless on everyone (kids, dad, and mom!).

And because they were so short, it allowed me to photograph way more families at a time than I normally would. (40 families within a 3-week timespan is definitely the most I’ve ever done.) I am definitely bringing these sessions back in the fall! (Imagine how CUTE all of these front porches will be with pumpkins and fall decor on them!
