What originally started out as portraits on the beach ended up being the most beautiful morning at a plantation home in a town I had never even heard of. I didn’t know there were so many small-town gems in South Carolina!
A few years ago I got to photograph a few different engagement sessions and weddings in Ruby, SC, and it was fun to get introduced to Effingham, SC for this session! (I’m from a small town, so I just love the vibes!) However, this beautiful plantation home is straight out of a magazine—you’d never know it was located in a small town and not in a city like Charleston or Savannah.
We lucked out with beautiful weather in the midst of some HOT days, and had so much fun learning about the history of the property. It really was so fun! Not photographed is the COOLEST, COOLEST, COOLEST tree house I’ve ever seen, but we did take some photos on the giant swings!
Helen + Matt were so, so easy to photograph. They looked so comfortable together, and you can tell they were having a good time just hanging out and being with each other. I enjoyed it so much! Couples like them make me feel so lucky to have this job. I could have photographed them for hours!
Enjoy my favorite portraits of them!!
All photographed on medium format and 35mm Fuji 400h film.
