I asked CJ what their first dance song was, pulled it up on my phone and played it, and cued Jessica to walk out. My phone ended up falling into a bird bath full of water (yikes!), but the music kept playing, and she kept walking toward him. It was such a sweet moment—CJ seeing her for the first time on their wedding day—and sometimes moments like that feel too personal for me to be part of, but I always keep my distance and just photograph it as it unfolds.

I feel so lucky to photograph EVERY single wedding I get to photograph, and Jess + CJ’s wedding was no exception. From the day I met them in Starbucks, I fell in love with them. I enjoyed every single second of wedding planning with them, doing their engagement photos, Jess’ bridals, and following along with all of their adventures on social media. It’s always sad to have this whole journey end, but I am SO glad I got to celebrate so much of it with them.
